~ THE GOOD: Valentine’s Day is this weekend, and although some see it as a major economically-Hallmark-driven holiday I happen to love it. To me, it is about the thought, not the card, or the money spent, or extravagance. Matter of fact I just mentioned to The Thinker that I didn’t need anything; inexpensive flowers would be nice. And, then I told Blue Eyes that, actually, the perfect gift would be… $80.00 roses divided by $5.00 flowers = 16 weeks of flowers. Now that’s a thoughtful, fun gift, that lasts more than a few days.
~ I have a BIG birthday coming up, so I thought it would be fun to base my class assignment/prompt around that theme. I have an ulterior motive as well. I am seriously considering trying my hand at selling my art at the local farmer’s market this year. So, a cute set of birthday cards might be fun to have on hand.
~ THE RANDOM: Did you see that the bears of Montana and Wyoming are already being spotted coming out of hibernation? That is way early. And, I happen to think the little flowers, peeping their heads out of the ground, in our neck of the woods, is way too early as well.
~ I really had a ton of fun with this weeks prompt. There was not much direction; the only objective was to try to create a piece that looked editorial-ish.
~ THE FUN: I thought I would give you a rundown of the books I have read thus far:
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikery
All the Light We Cannot See
A Faraway Smell of Lemon (short story)
Up Next: Alaska Bound: One Man's Dream... One Woman's Nightmare!, and A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail
