life thru the lens 2:52
Last week we were deep in the trenches in negative degree weather... with the windchill. That really is not normal in my part of the country. It does get cold here, but not normally below zero. So, my Life Thru the Lens looked like a ton of indoor days.
Now that we have four coffee drinkers in the house it is always a mad dash to retrieve two cups before all the coffee is gone. I've learned if I want a second cup of coffee not to linger too long on my first cup. The nice thing about four coffee drinkers is that we also have four coffee makers. Now, if only I could train them to have that pot dripping before I step out of my bedroom.
After my first cup, I am off to the races with reading through the Bible in 365... I wrote more about that on Friday.
I am also training myself to hit the photography books before I turn my computer on. Once I hit that button, and I hear the ding of the computer starting up, I will lose all focus on anything else.
Our days usually wind down with a bit of reading by the fireplace, and then dinner around the table. I am a huge proponent of family dinners every singe night. I know we are a busy nation but I strongly feel the demise of the family is in large part to the lack of family dinners. I also strongly believe that being busy is a choice. If you feel overwhelmed by your life, your kid's lives, then choose to do something about it and purge.
This year I am back at reading. After taking it easy the last couple of years, because I tapped myself out on a 52/52 in 2012, I feel another 52/52 in the making this year.
The one thing the bitter cold weather brings with it is crystal clear sunsets with amazing colors. Every night has been a different display of color on the horizon and I do feel as though I am watching a sky painter in motion as the sun sets behind the trees.
This week I am joining Kim Klassen in Texture Tuesday. I used waterfront18 on this photo with a soft light at about 20%. Then, I brushed off the texture along the tree line.
